Losing Streak Alive at 5

Losing Streak Alive at 5

Most Red Sox fans are not panicking but they are in a state of shock after yet another loss.  Dice-K joined the rest of the rotation in failing to record the first quality start for the Red Sox. Matsuzaka left after five after giving up 3 runs.  Disaster struck in the the 6th  when Reyes couldn’t get an out, in fact he only threw one strike in 12 pitches.  The Red Sox almost caught a break when Youk made a great play on a grounder to third, tagged the base and threw home.  Tek didn’t see him touch the base and thought it was a force play so he didn’t tag the runner and a run scored.  Later in the inning Cabrera hit a three-run homer off of Dan Wheeler.

Wake came in for mop-up duty and gave up another homer later in the game.

Marco Scutaro did get his first hit of the season and Adrian Gonzalez hit his first homer as a member of the Red Sox in the game.
