The St. Louis Blues have hinted that they’d like to see what Magnus Paajarvi has to offer in 2015-16, but first they’d need to sign the restricted free agent. Paajarvi has filed for salary arbitration and will next have a hearing between July 20th and August 4th in which an arbitrator will rule on his salary.

Paajarvi made a brief NHL appearance last season (10 games – 1 assist) and spent the majority of his time down in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves. There he showed some nice chemistry with Ty Rattie and scored 11 goals with 18 assists in 36 games. Paajarvi demonstrated enough that Doug Armstrong indicated that he’d like to give the forward another look.

However, the Blues and Paajarvi will have to first agree on a contract and that may be linked to Paajarvi desiring a one-way contract which would almost guarantee NHL time. Should he not receive a one-way deal, reports suggest Paajarvi may opt to play in Sweden.
