Below is the original article published prior to the Jericho AEW announcement:

As All Elite Wrestling gears up for its big rally in Jacksonville on Tuesday evening, to support its upcoming Double Or Nothing event, pro wrestling fans continue to question which talents will next be announced for the new promotion being headed by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks.

Two top names who have been rumored for the AEW promotion for the past several months are former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega, and former WWE star Chris Jericho. Both Omega and Jericho have finished up with NJPW, with Omega’s contract set to expire this month, and Jericho’s deal expiring after Wrestle Kingdom 13.

According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, the futures of Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho might take them in separate directions following their runs in NJPW, as fans anticipate announcements regarding where each talent will next wrestle.

With regards to Kenny Omega, Meltzer noted that Omega is expected to sign with All Elite Wrestling, but the announcement of Omega’s signing might not come until February. Because Omega remains under contract with NJPW, legally he is not allowed to make any official announcements regarding his future until he is an unrestricted free agent.

As for Chris Jericho, Meltzer noted Y2J was very pleased with his time spent in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and is open to working with the company again. With NJPW set to lose one of its top talents in Kenny Omega, the company very much wants to retain Jericho and does not want to lose him to another company such as AEW. NJPW has even discussed a possible Chris Jericho vs Hiroshi Tanahashi match for 2019, and with Jericho wanting to remain with NJPW, it could come down to the two sides merely needing to agree to a new deal.

This week’s All Elite Wrestling rally in Jacksonville could prove very telling as it pertains to talents joining the promotion, and The Floor Seat will have the latest news stemming from the event later this evening.
