Manny Ramirez Homers in Iowa Home Debut

bossy

Manny Ramirez is back again! Again.

In what can now be considered an annual event, the former World Series MVP is back on the field and back crushing baseballs.  Ramirez, who hit a staggering 555 home runs during his 19-year big league career, showed fans Monday night what he’s made of.

The newly minted player-coach for the Iowa Cubs hit two-run home run off Omaha Storm Chasers pitcher Sugar Ray Marimon (who, incidentally, was four years old when Ramirez made his Major League debut in 1993).  In case you were wondering, the 42-year-old slugger went 3-for-4 in his home debut.

Just in case you’ve been living in a cave, it’s been three years since Ramirez last played in the Majors.  He abruptly retired after his second PED-related suspension while with the Tampa Bay Rays.
