When NFL Free Agency kicked off the market for free agent quarterbacks was not very good. Brian Hoyer signed with the Houston Texans, Tyrod Taylor signed with the Buffalo Bills, and Matt Schaub signed with the Baltimore Ravens. With that being said, it seems like more teams are set on drafting a quarterback.
One quarterback who has not been signed yet is Michael Vick. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, Vick still intends to play this season. Vick, who spent last season with the New York Jets played in 10 games but started in three, posting a 1-2 record. Last season, he also passed for 604 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while sporting a 52.9 completion percentage.
While the numbers last season might not be appealing, the sense is that teams might be interested in Vick if they cannot get their quarterback in the draft. Florio also says that Vick is prepared to accept a backup role but whoever the starter is needs to not have any insecurity because the other players on the roster might start clamoring for Vick.
After the draft is over, I fully believe that Vick will be signed to a one-year deal to be a backup. A team that could use him is the Minnesota Vikings, who already have Teddy Bridgewater cemented as the starter and Vick could serve as a great mentor.
