“I’ve never commented on the contract in the past and I’m not going to start now 13 years into it,” Manning said. “I don’t discuss other players’ contract situations. Obviously we hope once the season gets going, all of our players are here and ready to go.”
Manning dispelled the notion the absence of Wayne, Mathis and Bethea will hinder the team’s offseason progress.
“I don’t really think it will hold anything back,” he said. “I think it’s a great opportunity for me to work on some individual timing with some of these young guys. We’ll have really productive work this weekend, next week.
“I think it’s just a chance to get better. That’s what we talk about, just getting better, and I think we’ll do that.”
