When the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at 1:00 pm, starting at quarterback for them will be Matt Cassel. This was reported by Ben Goessling, ESPN NFL Nation reporter.
So far this season, Cassel has thrown for 1,122 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions. He also has a quarterback passer rating of 84.9.
In the last two games for the Vikings, Cassel has thrown for 508 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He should have had two wins in those games but last week the Baltimore Ravens won on a game winning touchdown catch by wide receiver Marlon Brown.
If Cassel does falter Christian Ponder is the backup. The Philadelphia Eagles defense should be concerned as Cassel has been getting his wide receivers involved including making rookie Cordarrelle Patterson an offensive playmaker. That will be the key matchup for the Eagles secondary but it all starts with getting pressure on Cassel.
If they can get pressure on Cassel he is liable to turn the ball over just like how they did to Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer.
