Not since the late Frank Pastore downed a 72-ounce steak in less than ten minutes has a Major Leaguer put his eating prowess on display.
Enter Matt Stairs.
Prior to the SuperBowl, the former slugger took center stage at Wing Bowl 22 in Philadelphia. But it had nothing to do with him downing wings. It had everything to do with him going all "Stone Cold" in front of a huge audience.
That's right, the 19-year veteran, complete with Steve Austin's entrance music, dumped two beers over his head as if he just won the WWE championship belt.
"Seeing him do that was probably the most badass thing I've seen at Wing Bowl," professional eater and friend of The Hall Patrick Bertoletti said. "They cheered almost as loud for Matt Stairs as they did for the tits on the Jumbotron."
