Max Ramirez isn’t that a very good player according to one scout:
“To me, he is a well-below-average catcher and first baseman defensively. I can’t see him playing defensively in the big leagues. His biggest tool is his power, but he’s not a very good hitter. He waves at breaking balls, just no chance on the breaking ball. To me, he’s a .220, .230 hitter who’s got power.”
Gordon Edes says the Sox are not going after Beltre: too pricey.
