It’s really amazing, because the previous generation was supposed to be known as the ‘microwave’ generation, where we want everything in 3 minutes. But we have topped that these days myfriends, call it the Microwave 2.0 maybe? This internet, quad core, 50+Mb per second download speed society we have now wants things even faster. If we had Warren Sapp today, we more than likely would have called him a Bust and demanded on sports talk radio that Santana Dotson be used more! There are some who actually call Gerald McCoy, the Bucs first round draft choice from Oklahoma, a bust because he hasnt had 8 or 10 sacks. This is probably because (RIP) Gaines Adams had the same type of story. Difference is Adams had a body of work after his first year, and by the third year was producing absolutely nothing. So bad that HC Raheem Morris called his so much as a bust, and traded him to Chicago. McCoy is nowhere near that situation yet, and in fact, you’re starting to see a little bit of progress. McCoy is getting closer and closer to his target each time, and made his first real impact play Sunday when he stripped the ball allowing safety Sean Jones to recover. The Bucs scored an early TD because of it. So while most people know that Sapp had 3 sacks and 30 tackles in his rookie year, he was in a very different system, with veterans around him. McCoy does not lack in effort, and that’s all its going to take to get him to the point where he is able to make a difference.
