I think he goes back too far. The playoff structure going back to 1978 is very different than it is today.

And only one of those teams, the 2006 Indianapolis Colts, won the Super Bowl. But of the 47 NFL teams that entered the playoffs on five-game winning streaks since 1978, 10 have won the Super Bowl.
