Metallica is starting to like this baseball thing.
In 2012, members of the rock band were on hand during the San Francisco Giants’ World Series run. Last year, the team honored the Bay Area legends with their own night at the ballpark and, of course, we all remember their Yankee Stadium tribute to the retiring Mariano Rivera.
Tuesday, less than three weeks before this year’s Metallica night, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers took batting practice. But here’s the catch…this wasn’t the first time they took to the cages this season. It was the ninth!
But, yeah, back to this year’s Metallica-themed event.
“We had such an amazing time last year supporting our local team and hanging at the yard that we jumped at the chance to do it all again,” the band said. “When the Giants take the field (May 16) against the Miami Marlins, we’ll be on hand to kick it off with the National Anthem and first pitch, joining the orange and black faithful for the rest of the evening for all kinds of Metalli-fun and games.”
Oooh yeah!
