Mets Pitcher Gets His Own Burger

I think it's pretty safe to say that when the tornadoes hit Oklahoma last month, everyone's collective heart broke.  For New York Mets pitcher Jeremy Hefner, the news, literally, hit too close to home.

You see, Hefner was born and went to high school in Perkins, Oklahoma, but lived for 10 years in Moore, the town hardest hit by the tornado.  His family was spared, but the righty's former elementary school was one of the buildings leveled.

"I have an uncle that lives in Moore and cousins that live in Moore," Hefner said after hearing the news his hometown was hit. "So when I heard that it was in Moore again, I was freaking out."

That's where Foley's NY Pub and Restaurant comes in.

The restaurant has re-named its most popular menu items after Moore.  And for the entire month of June, all the proceeds from the newly named "Foley's 405 Burger" (named after the town's area code) will be going to Lifechurch, Hefner's place of worship.

"It's the least we can do and it's always nice to be able to help," Foley's owner Shaun Clancy told The Hall.  "71 people from (Hefner's) church lost everything."
