Michael Sweetney used to be a promising power forward who could score and rebound. But he could also eat… and that cost him a spot in the league. For the past two years, he's been out of basketball… but now the Celtics are giving him a shot to prove to the NBA… and himself… that he's good enough to make it back.
"They just told me to come out here and do what I do," Sweetney said when asked what the Celtics
wanted out of him this week in Orlando. "Don't do anything that I
don't do. They want me to just play hard, run the floor and try to get
in better shape."

By all accounts, he was a monster in the first half of the first game… but then he tweaked a hamstring. If he can get himself down to a decent weight… at least for him… he could be a cheaper low post option than someone like Big Baby. He's got the basketball skills to pull it off. But a 1 year deal at the minimum to give the guy a shot might be worth it.
