Welterweight Maurice “Mighty Mo” Hooker (14-0-2, 10 KO’s) from the Maple Avenue Boxing Gym in Dallas, Texas, didn’t waste time at the Fantasy Springs Casino in his fight against Lauro Alcantar (8-3, 2KO) of Agua Prieta, Mexico. Just as he had said, Mighty Mo used his left hook to put Alcantar on the canvas for the first knockdown. This left hook was something he told NTF that he had been working on in training camp and it appears his hard work paid off. NTF caught up with Mighty Mo after the fight and he said “I set him up with a jab, and then I caught him coming in with a left hook.” The second knockdown came at the end of Mighty Mo’s straight right hand. The third knockdown came at 2:17 of the first round as Mighty Mo stays undefeated and adds another KO to his record.
