Salt Lake
Box Score
The Bad: The Salt Lake Bees had just one run on five hits on the night, but what’s worse is they struck out as a team 15 times. Bourjos, Aldridge, Wood and Trumbo each struck out three times.
Noteworthy: In two games, over nine at bats, Brandon Wood has just one hit and four strikeouts.
The Bad: The Travelers offense. Just one hit on the night, which was a single.
Noteworthy: The Travelers offense needs some more offense. Robert Lopez was a start, but perhaps it’s time to get a spark plug atop the lineup and promote Alexi Amarista and have Mike Trout skip a level to take the centerfield spot. As a team the Travelers are hitting just .239 and sporting impotent slugging pct. of .349.
The Bad: Ariel Pena (3.65) went six innings and gave up four runs on seven hits, though he did strike out six. Jon Bachanov allowed three runs on four hits in an inning and 2/3.
Noteworthy: Tyler Skaggs takes his 4-2 record and 2.51 ERA to the hill tonight against the Lansing Lugnuts. For more on Tyler Skaggs, see our prospect profile here.
Prospect of the Day: Mike Trout, OF Cedar Rapids Kernels
