Mikey Lowell Activated, Youk to DL

Matt announced the lineup earlier today and since then a couple things have changed.

Here is the new lineup:

Scutaro SS
DMac CF
VMart C
Ortiz DH
Beltre 3B
Lowell 1B
Lowrie 2B
Hall LF
Kalish RF
Beckett SP

Youk had an MRI on his thumb today and the initial reports…not good news.  He is on the 15 DL and some initial rumblings coming through on twitter are that he might have pulled a muscle in his hand and he might *gulp* need surgery.

The only silver lining is that the Sox didn’t trade or DFA Lowell just yet.  Youk is a force and he can’t be replaced in a lineup, but it is mighty nice to have a major league quality player to put in his position in the time being.

And because I adoringly love Mikey Lowell…..my initial reaction before the somber fact of Youk going on the DL sunk in was….

MIKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!  WHOO HOOO!!!!!
