The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman Brendan Mikkelson to the Syracuse Crunch.
The 25 year old Mikkelson played in four games with the Lightning this season, accumulating an assist and a plus-one rating. The Regina, He skated in seven games with the Crunch earlier this season during a conditioning stint, netting an assist and a plus-four rating. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound defenseman has played190 career games in the AHL with the Abbotsford Heat, Toronto Marlies, Iowa Chops, Portland Pirates and the Crunch, recording 18 goals and 47 assists.
The Saskatchewan native was originally acquired from the Calgary Flames in exchange for forward Blair Jones on January 6, 2012.
