A fallout player from Cleveland is now in the company of a team that can change players who have suffered from injuries and turn them into productive players. This was the case for former first round pick LB Barkevious Mingo, who was a star at LSU (Louisiana State University) is now a Patriot after New England gave Cleveland an undisclosed draft pick for the athletic linebacker. Injuries plagued Mingo during his time with Cleveland, the team that always has bad luck. The 6’4 hybrid linebacker, when healthy, is a game changing player that fits well into what Belichick is looking for. Pairing Mingo with Jamie Collins, two similar players with traits that resemble each other, and that could spill trouble for opponents trying to gameplan about these two guys.
Last year, Mingo played all 16 games and recorded 18 solo tackles, a sack and four deflected passes. In his three seasons in Cleveland, Mingo has tallied up 108 tackles, 7 sacks and 12 deflected passes.
In his days at LSU, Mingo recorded 119 total tackles, 15 sacks and 4 forced fumbles which led to him being selected by the Cleveland Browns 6th overall in the 2013 NFL Draft. Players who were chose ahead of him were Ziggy Ansah, Luke Joeckel, Eric Fisher, and Dion Jordan.
Welcome to New England Barkevious!
