Minnesota Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson Should Not Play On Sunday

NFL: Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills

According to reports Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson’s two-year old son has passed away after being beaten by 27-year old Joseph Patterson who was looking after the child. Patterson has now been charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery and aggravated assault domestic, which will likely get upgraded to a murder charge.

The two-year had been getting treatment for his injuries in a Sioux Falls, South Dakota Hospital. At one point prosecutor Tom Wollman stated that the child remained “unresponsive.”

With Peterson’s son hospitalized the last thing the star running back would be thinking about is playing on Sunday right? Unfortunately that isn’t the case at all as he’s said “I will be playing Sunday, without a doubt.” Can understand wanting to play, yet that’s where it should end. Fortunately head coach Leslie Frazier wasn’t so sure about the status of his star running back as he stated “We expect him to play but this is very personal situation he is dealing with. We’ll talk to him more in the next 24 hours.

Hopefully Frazier will now persuade Peterson to change his mind as it will be a mistake to play and he truly needs to be with his family as a football game is not more important then that.  i

Peterson did go to Twitter to express his appreciation for their support.
