Former big league catcher Charlie O’Brien is an innovator.
While with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1996, and after having been hit in the mask by two consecutive foul-tip balls in a game, he thought up the idea for a goalie-style catcher’s mask. As equally as impressive…O’Brien spent the bulk of his 15-year big league career rocking a tight perm.
His son Chris is looking to carry on one of those traditions.

The newly-permed O’Brien spent his 2015 season with the Baltimore Orioles Double-A affiliate, the Bowie Baysox, hitting .243 is just 123 plate appearances.
There’s no word yet as to where the 26-year-old catcher will start his 2016 campaign. But one thing is for sure…dude is going to look sharp!
