MLB NETWORK ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE OF LIVE GAMES THROUGH AUGUST 8
Games to air on “Thursday Night Baseball” and “Saturday Night Baseball” as American League and National League Postseason Races Heat Up
Secaucus, N.J., July 27, 2009 – MLB Network today announced its schedule of live Thursday and Saturday night games from July 30 through August 8, 2009, featuring seven MLB clubs in four live regular season games.
This week’s Thursday night game will air on July 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET, with the New York Yankees at Chicago White Sox and MLB Network’s Bob Costas and Jim Kaat calling the game. The following week will showcase an A.L. East showdown with the Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees on August 6. As N.L. Division Series and Wild Card races intensify, MLB Network will also feature postseason hopefuls Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs, starting with the Astros at Cardinals on Saturday, August 1.
Saturday Night Baseball will be simulcasts of local broadcasts, including local announcers. On Saturdays, MLB Tonight will provide in-game updates on developments throughout MLB as well as news, analysis and highlights following the game telecast.

July 30 – 8:00 p.m. Yankees @ White Sox – Bob Costas & Jim Kaat
August 1 – 7:00 p.m. Astros @ Cardinals
August 6 – 7:00 p.m. Red Sox @ Yankees – Bob Costas & Jim Kaat
August 8 – 8:00 p.m. Cubs @ Rockies
Games will be blacked out in each team’s home television territory. Viewers in areas subject to blackouts will be provided with an alternate game telecast or other programming. MLB Network will continue to announce future Thursday Night Baseball and Saturday night games coinciding with its selection windows.
MLB Tonight, the signature program of MLB Network during the regular season, airs live beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET until the final MLB game of the night ends each Monday through Friday, featuring live look-ins of games in progress, updates, highlights, reporting and analysis. On Saturday nights, the show provides in-game updates and then airs after the game’s conclusion, while on Thursday nights, the show leads in to Thursday Night Baseball, providing viewers with highlights and analysis after the game as well as live studio updates during the game broadcast.
Looks like Costas & Kaat may be working down the stretch for the pennant races which is not a bad thing at all.
