Schedule features New York Yankees against Kansas City Royals today on Thursday Night Baseball

MLB Network plans for extensive coverage of 2010 Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and July 31 Trade Deadline

Secaucus, N.J., July 22, 2010 –The New York Yankees, who are at a Major League best 59-34 on the season, host the Kansas City Royals on Thursday Night Baseball tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET, part of MLB Network’s live game schedule for July 22 – July 31. MLB Network’s Matt Vasgersian and John Smoltz will call the game, the first of a four-game series with the Royals, live from Yankee Stadium.

The remainder of MLB Network’s live game schedule for the month includes the NL Central second-place Cincinnati Reds taking on the Washington Nationals during MLB Matinee on Thursday, July 22 at 12:30 p.m. ET, which will be available on MLB Network in the Reds’ home television territory. On Friday, July 23, the Philadelphia Phillies, with their ace pitcher Roy Halladay probable to be on the mound, face the Colorado Rockies at 7:00 p.m. ET. The AL West first-place Texas Rangers match up against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Saturday, July 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Next week, the surging St. Louis Cardinals, who have won eight games in a row and are in first place in the NL Central, travel to Citi Field to take on the New York Mets on Tuesday, July 27 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Cardinals will once again face Mets during MLB Matinee on Thursday, July 29 at 12:00 p.m. ET. Later that day, the NL West first-place San Diego Padres host the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday Night Baseball at 6:30 p.m. ET. The NL East first-place Atlanta Braves visit the Cincinnati Reds in an NL matchup on Friday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The July game schedule ends with an AL East showdown between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, July 31 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
