Secaucus, N.J., July 29, 2010 – The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox continue one of the longest-running rivalries in sports when they face off on Friday, August 6 at 7:00 p.m. ET, part of MLB Network’s live game schedule for August 3-7. MLB Network’s Bob Costas and Jim Kaat will call the game live from Yankee Stadium, with pregame coverage beginning on MLB Tonight at 4:00 p.m. ET. MLB Network’s Harold Reynolds and Kevin Millar, a key member of the 2004 World Champion Red Sox, will be part of the pregame coverage, including live on-field interviews.
The AL Central first-place Chicago White Sox match up against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Tuesday, August 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Tigers trail the White Sox by five games in the AL Central. Select markets will see the NL East first-place Atlanta Braves host the New York Mets at 7:00 p.m. ET. The AL Central second-place Minnesota Twins visit the AL Wild Card-leading Tampa Bay Rays during MLB Matinee on Thursday, August 5, at 12:00 p.m. ET, which will be available on MLB Network in the Twins’ home television territory. Later that day, the Atlanta Braves host the NL Wild Card-leading San Francisco Giants, who have won eight of their last ten games, on Thursday Night Baseball at 7:00 p.m. ET. Rounding out the week, the New York Mets face NL East division rival Philadelphia Phillies, who are on a seven-game winning streak, at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, August 7 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Select markets will see the San Francisco Giants at Atlanta Braves.
MLB Tonight, MLB Network’s Emmy Award-winning signature nightly studio show with look-ins at live games, will air live at 5:30 p.m. ET on August 2 and 3 as well as after MLB Matinee on August 5 and the Yankees and Red Sox game on August 6. MLB Tonight will also air on Wednesday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. ET and on Sunday, August 8 at 5:00 p.m. ET, followed by Quick Pitch at 7:00 p.m. ET.
