Today, the Toronto Blue Jays and designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion agreed to a three year, $27 million contract extension. Within this contract extension, Encarnacion gets a $10 million club option for the 2016 season. Encarnacion deserves this extension as he is having the best season in his seven year major league career. So far this season, he has 23 home runs, 58 RBI, and a batting average of .295.
