Fans waiting to watch their favorite team after the All-Star Break were in for a rude awakening when MLB.tv failed to broadcast the start of any the early games. Fans were greeted with the message: “This game will begin shortly” even after games had reached the fourth inning. The only game that appeared to be working was the Cubs/ Diamondbacks. Tweets to MLB support on twitter went unanswered.
@MLBFanSupport why isn’t mlb.tv working tonight?

There were not too many happy MLB.tv customers tonight to say the least. Take a look at the tweets to MLB.tv. This is the only thing that could be found on the MLB site deep in a forum:
We are currently experiencing issues that will affect all TV broadcasts, both those ongoing and upcoming. The upcoming games may continue to show pregame slate after they have begun. There will also be no commercial break slates for live games. This issue is also affecting most audio feeds. We are working on resolving these issues. We apologize for the inconvenience.
UPDATE: MLB.tv is now back up and running. The first tweet from MLB about the problem came after more than two hours of no service:
MLBTV Update: We’re sorry to say that we suffered hardware failure in both our primary and secondary systems. We apologize. (1/3)
