Update, 2:38 p.m.:
Morning scrimmage highlights…
Update, 2:29 p.m.:
Jesse Spector at the Blueshirts Blog recaps second scrimmage.
Says the rapidly improving Dylan McIlrath was good, while Carl Hagelin impressed again with his speed.
Spector feels Stepan has been struggling on a line with Dubinsky and Callahan and expects Anisimov to be back between those two soon.
Finally, Spector says Pavel Valentenko was impressive again filling in for Marc Staal.
…love hearing the positive reports on the Rangers prospects.
Update, 2:06 p.m.:
Artem Anisimov cut Blue lead to 2-1, but a late save by Cam Talbot preserves victory.
Update, 1:50 p.m.:
The Captain makes it 2-0 Blue.
…i think I like calling Cally “The Captain”.
Update, 1:36 p.m.:
Sauer scores in first action of training camp banging home a Carl Hagelin rebound. 1-0 Blue over Green.
…guess he’s feeling ok.
Update, 1:14 p.m.:
Leslie Treff of Hockey’s Future has more from this morning’s scrimmage including Collin Bowman bottling up Brad Richards, Ryan Bourque not passing and Michael Del Zotto still being a work in progress.
…Collin Bowman shutting down Richards really isn’t exactly what I want to hear.
Update, 12:32 p.m.:
Michael Sauer says he will take part in his first camp scrimmage this afternoon.
Update, 10:30 a.m.:
Jesse Spector at the Blueshirts Blog recaps the scrimmage.
He says Tim Erixon continued to impress with his vision and decision-making, while Steve Eminger has done more than Michael Del Zotto in the first two scrimmages to distinguish himself.
…hearing a lot more about the play of Erixon than of Del Zotto, who might just find himself back with the Whale to start the season.
Update, 10:20 a.m.:
White holds on to win 3-2.
Update, 9:50 a.m.:
Tommy Grant and Wolski make it a game for the Red Team. Now 3-2.
…Wolski playing with a purpose.
Update, 9:45 a.m.:
Kris Newbury (2nd in two days) and Ruslan Fedotenko (also 2nd in 2 days) make it 3-0 White. Boyle adds an assist on Feds goal.
…all three of these guys are having nice starts to camp.
Original Post:
