I guarantee that you are not as excited about your job (especially today) as TCU’s “timpani girl” is about hers.
- Shortly after the Lions beat the Vikings for their 4th straight win, Brett Favre announced his retirement… for the 4th year in a row. Stay tuned (to ESPN, not us) for an update every time Favre scratched himself.
- In what might have been the worst primetime football game I’ve ever watched*, the Seattle Seahawks beat the St. Louis Rams to win the NFC West. (*By “watched,” I mean ESPN Classic was showing the Mighty Ducks movies and I checked the score at commercials).
- There’s no better way to put this: Al-Farouq Aminu’s dunk attempt (the key word there is “attempt”) is highly entertaining and extremely comical.
- Speaking of entertaining, this was too (unless your name is Xabi Alonso).
- Naturally, Awful Announcing came up with lists of the Best and Worst Announcers of 2010. While I would have liked to see Ian Darke higher on the “Best” list (his World Cup call is already iconic), I can’t argue otherwise.
- I don’t want to think about this, but there’s a chance Denard Robinson won’t be back at Michigan if Rich Rodriguez is fired. Do I blame Robinson? Not at all. Am I scared of him leaving? Terrified.
- I didn’t watch a minute of this year’s Winter Classic, and I probably wouldn’t watch the New York-Los Angeles matchup that Puck Daddy is already pimping for next year. I do like the idea though.
- Arianny Celeste put on a show at the finale of The Ultimate Fighter this weekend. I’m not sure what this Ultimate Fighter business is, but if Arianny is involved I think we need more of it.
- Sources are reporting that John Elway will accept a front office position with the Denver Broncos. Something about this screams “Matt Millen to me,” but we’ll see how involved Elway is with anyone in the organization not named Tim Tebow.
