- The Tampa Bay Rays forced a decisive Game 5 with a 5-2 win over the Texas Rangers yesterday. Big League Stew debates if the Rangers should have started Cliff Lee on short rest. My response? If Lee is the ace we think he is, he’ll shut down Tampa in Game 5 anyway.
- The San Francisco 49ers dropped to 0-5 with their 27-24 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles last night. 49ers fans got a little restless, chanting “We Want Carr” in the 4th quarter. This is officially the first time a fanbase has gotten excited about having David Carr as its QB.
- Bless You Boys was recently ranked the #11 baseball blog by Wikio. D4L did not make the list, as the individuals that created the rankings did not feel it was appropriate to include a professional on a list of amateurs. Plus, we do more than baseball.
- I’m going to be trying something a bit new (well, sorta) by posting the game recaps that everyone loves so much in the D4L Forum. As much as you love reading about Valtteri Filppula’s great game for the 54th time, we’d like to keep the front page fresh for important stuff like this.
- Speaking of the Wings, there’s a word being thrown around right now that should scare the pants off of the rest of the NHL. The Chief thinks that the Wings have their swagger back, something that tends to lead to trophies and parades.
- The incredibly talented Samara created an all-in-one pictorial of the Tigers’ 2010 season at Roar of the Tigers. Click over to enjoy it in all its cartoonish glory.
- Michigan State CB Chris L. Rucker was suspended for “at least one game” on Sunday by head coach Mark Dantonio. No speculation yet, we’ll see where this one goes.
