Hi Dad!
- Dallas Braden, the A’s pitcher that took exception to A-Rod stepping on his mound a few weeks ago, tossed a perfect game yesterday against the Tampa Bay Rays. It’s good to see Braden get his due, though it would have been twice as nice if it was against the Yankees.
- The Boston Celtics beat the Cleveland
LeBronsCavaliers 97-87 yesterday to even their series at 2 game a piece. Sean Deveney of The Baseline thinks the Cavs need a different defensive strategy for Rajon Rondo, who put up a 29/18/13 triple double.
- While every other NBA playoff series has dragged on for far too long, Phoenix finished off a sweep of San Antonio yesterday with a 107-101 win. This series started a day after the Lakers-Jazz series, and those teams have only played three games. Also, Phoenix and San Antonio played Game 1 the same night as Game 2 of the Boston-Cleveland series. Given this pace, the Suns next series will probably start in July.

- Somehow, two people got away with parking on the 8th green at TPC Sawgrass on Thursday night. While Sportress of Blogitude agrees that it’s tough to find parking, I’m shocked they got away without a fine. Apparently the course isn’t a tow-away zone. [via Busted Coverage]
- Mauricio “Shogun” Rua knocked out Lyoto Machida in the first round at UFC 113 on Saturday. As exciting as MMA is, that pay-per-view package sucks. $50 for a fight that lasts less than 4 minutes? Not happening in my house.
- Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson took a shot at Donovan McNabb last week, saying that the Eagles “hadn’t lost anything.” McNabb ruined all chances at a good story by taking the high road in his response.
- Seriously, how confused is this girl? The only thing she’s doing right in this picture is drinking the beer, and even then she’s probably taken 3 innings to drink that much of it.
- Make sure you check out the latest Lions Congregation post, this time at Roar of the Lions. Big Al at The Wayne Fontes Experience has his answer to this week’s question up already. I’ll update with a link to the whole post later on.
- In 2018, Michigan and Notre Dame take a two-year break from their annual football rivalry, for some odd reason. Maize ‘n’ Brew has a few suggestions for high-profile filler games in that period. I think it’s pretty obvious that their first few suggestions would be Michigan’s best options.
- Hugging Harold Reynolds is taking offense with the idea that the New York Yankees and Mets should boycott the All-Star game in protest of Arizona’s immigration law. They put it best with this line: “…[L]eave your politics out of my baseball.”
Today’s random video and highlight after the jump…
RANDOM AWESOME VIDEO OF THE DAY
Dwight Howard wasn’t too thrilled when a reporter put his man card in serious jeopardy on Thursday night.
ROB’S HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY
Antawn Jamison skies over Kevin Garnett for the dunk. Garnett probably won’t care too much; his team walked away with the 97-87 win.
