The Tigers were hoping to pull off a trade for Diamondbacks pitcher Dan Haren, but that won’t be possible anymore. Yesterday, Haren was traded to the Anaheim Angels for pennies on the dollar. I don’t see how the Tigers couldn’t have beaten Anaheim’s offer, but there’s a reason I’m doing this and not Dave Dombrowski’s job.

I don’t know if this is just a ploy for the time being or a hard stance in general, but it looks like the New Orleans Hornets are not going to trade Chris Paul. Good move on their part; this is a team that won a combined 105 regular season games in 2007-08 and 2008-09.
