We’ve still got about an hour until kickoff in Green Bay and not much else going on tonight (unless you have League Pass or Center Ice), so check out some of the stories we’ve found on the interwebs today. As always, let us know what you think in the comments. If you find something worth sharing, e-mail us at [email protected].
- The Onion reports that Notre Dame’s coaching search continues after Jesus Christ turned down their 3-year offer. My sources have confirmed that Jack Swarbrick is flying to the Vatican on Monday to meet with Pope Benedict XVI. No word on whether he would get to wear the sweet pope hat on the sidelines, but it will probably get in the way of the headset.
Best recruiter ever.
- In other Notre Dame news, Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate are both declaring for the NFL draft after their junior seasons. I’m actually upset about this. When am I going to use this picture now?
Mel Kiper likes the guy on the left.
- The saddest part about the Chicago Bulls’ lack of effort this season isn’t the fact that they didn’t even try to steal the ball from Jarrett Jack when he tied his shoe during the game. The saddest part is that the Pistons lost to this team. Hey, at least they didn’t lose to the Nets (yet).
- Steve from the Detroit Lions Weblog likes what he’s seen from Matthew Stafford this season, but thinks that it’s time to shut him down. I like his reasoning: there’s no reason to lose the franchise QB long-term for a couple wins that will only cost us a chance at this guy.
- I hate to pile on Tiger Woods even more, but Gunaxin’s Angry Wife Golf Club Guide is too good to pass up. And if you’re bored at work, take a quick break to play Tiger Woods Wife Outrun.
- Katy Perry can kiss all the girls she wants as long as she keeps looking this good.
- This week kicks off ESPN’s Jimmy V Week in support of cancer research. I’ve been highly critical of ESPN for as long as I can remember (though not as much as these guys), but Jimmy V week is definitely one thing the Worldwide Leader does right. If you’ve never seen his speech from the 1993 ESPY Awards, you need to watch it.
Rob’s Highlight of the Day
Today’s highlight comes from Saturday’s Raptors-Bulls game. Rookie DeMar DeRozan throws down a dunk over Chicago’s Brad Miller. You know it’s nasty when the announcer just says, “Stop it.”
