Always keep your head on a swivel; you never know what will hit you after a long weekend.
- Imagine my surprise when I flipped on ESPN today to see that the Baltimore Ravens signed T.J. Houshmandzadeh, a guy I wasn’t even aware was cut by the Seattle Seahawks. Two words: fantasy upside.
- Meanwhile, Matt Leinart was signed by the Houston Texans. This makes former Lions QB Dan “LOL” Orlovsky one of the highest-paid 3rd string QBs in the league.
- Speaking of the Lions (sort of), Martin Mayhew pulled another great trade out of his
asshat by picking up some secondary help from the Denver Broncos in exchange for a late round draft pick and a practice squad TE.
- I’m still not sure I believe Aroldis Chapman hit 105 mph on the radar gun (it WAS a minor league park after all), but he’s not looking for any second opinions when updating the license plates on his whips.
- The guys at The Triple Deke decided to live blog the only 60:01 football game ever played: the 2001 Michigan-Michigan State game. Personally, I choose to relive happier and less controversial memories.
- At UM Hoops, Dylan explains why the Big Ten divisions won’t work as well for basketball as they will for football. I don’t see why there needs to be divisions at all in basketball, but the current split would be great for both Michigan and MSU.
