Go see Iron Man 2. I’ve had AC/DC’s “Shoot to Thrill” stuck in my head all weekend.

- ESPN analyst (and sad puppy dog) Jeff Van Gundy doesn’t think that LeBron James to Chicago is too good of an idea. If LBJ is serious about winning, Van Gundy thinks that the Bulls aren’t his best option because they wouldn’t be a championship contender right away. If he says this about a team with Derrick Rose on its roster, I don’t want to know what he thinks about the New York Knicks.
- Bob briefly mentioned this after Saturday’s game, but Jason Beck has more details on the Tigers’ decision to move Carlos Guillen to second base. Guillen’s bat will be a welcome re-addition to thelineup in place of the struggling Scott Sizemore. Danny Worth, the call-up in Sizemore’s place, has never shown much pop in his bat and will probably head back down to AAA once Guillen is healthy.
- Mgoblog wishes congratulations to the Michigan men’s lacrosse team for winning it’s 3rd consecutive MCLA national championship. Tim also wonders if the time is right for the jump to Division 1 competition. While I don’t know what the talent disparity is like between the MCLA and NCAA Division 1 lacrosse, I can’t imagine that Michigan wouldn’t be able to hang with the big boys after a couple of years.
- Great news out of the NBA: Nuggets coach George Karl will be back behind the bench in Denver next season. Karl underwent chemotherapy for a cancer relapse earlier this year. The Nuggets struggled without him, losing to the Utah Jazz in the first round.
- What an awesome picture. Kudos to Total Pro Sports.

- Royals Authority has a pretty bleak outlook for their team this season, pushing them to ponder the idea of trading Zack Greinke to a contender. While I’d love for the Tigers to jump on this, (a) the price tag would be astronomical, and (b) I doubt the Royals would trade their ace to a division rival. [via Big League Stew]
- Another idiot ran out onto a baseball field this weekend, this time in Tampa, FL where they don’t use tasers, apparently. Manager Joe Maddon was happy to see that there were actually fans at the game. [via Busted Coverage]
- North Korea can’t find enough fans to go to South Africa to cheer on their team in next month’s World Cup, so they’re asking China for help. Sounds like a certain NHL team that may or may not be struggling to fill its arena…
- Check out Guyism for a list of 8 super powers that would be awesome to have. You know you’ve thought about what life would be like if you had any of these. I’m still not sure how teleportation is #8 (it’s definitely top-5 for me), but otherwise an excellent list.
- With nothing else going on this offseason but Big Ten expansion talk, Maize ‘n’ Brew is living up to the latter portion of their name by giving some good, honest beer advice.
- At Motown Wings, Chris Hollis has some good news: Captain4lyfe Steve Yzerman has taken himself out of the running for the GM position of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Today’s random video and highlight after the jump…
RANDOM AWESOME VIDEO OF THE DAY
NFL super-agent Drew Rosenhaus judo-chops a stack of flaming cement blocks, though most of you will probably be disappointed he didn’t catch on fire. [via Shutdown Corner]
ROB’S HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY
I didn’t watch the Celtics’ 92-88 win over the Magic in its entirety, but Tony Allen’s finish on the alley-oop from Rajon Rondo got me out of my seat.
