I don't even know what to write for this team any more. It seems every week is the same. They do really well in some periods/games and really bad in others. It looks like they are starting a run and then they lose again. Up and down. Up and down.
Up until Saturday I was all set to write about how it looked like the Coyotes might squeak by into a playoff spot. We beat the Kings and held off a lead against Florida but then we lost to the Bruins and some other teams didn't do what would benefit the Coyotes. By no means are they out of the running yet but I think the team needs to focus on getting all the points through the end of the season. We can't depend on other teams winning/losing as we need them to.
I wish I had more to say. My opinion is pretty basic. Every single person on the team needs to take it up a notch. They need to find that competitive spirit, that killer instinct. As a team. I think I have said this all season.
As fans we need to stop complaining about individuals performance. If you look for the errors, of course you will see them. Don't be blind to the positives that player brings. Every player has positives and negatives. What I like is that when our current roster seems to mess up they know it and step up. We have had players in the past (one who was here Thursday wearing a C) who when they make mistakes just didn't give a shit. I'd rather have a player who make an error but then tries to correct it or works harder the next shift then one who has a whatever attitude.
Coyotes are hanging in there and I hope they can continue to do so for the rest of the season. The last few weeks are going to be hard. If we can get all six points on this east coast road trip it would really help. I wouldn't even care if we went to OT/shootout, as long as we eventually win. I have a feeling if we make the playoffs we will not see a deep run. I just don't see the team having it in them. I think they have the talent and skill but the drive seems to be lacking.
