America is four weeks into the new NFL season, and there are some fan bases that feel a lot better about themselves than others. There are a good amount of fan bases feeling better than one fan base centered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as the Eagles dropped to 1-3 on the year after losing to the Washington Professional Football Team 23-20 on Sunday at FedEx Field.
That is not what this is about, however. I have already gone through and processed the stages of depression when you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, so I’d rather not relapse before Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
In the latest edition of the Monday Morning Conversation (on a Tuesday), my brother, Attiba, gets on the line where we finally debut something we do all of the time in private conversation. It’s a pretty simple game, and the title is simple: “Are these NFL teams good?” After four weeks of the season, there’s a good sense on how a lot of teams are already doing. Who is good? Who is fraudulently good (good record, but may not be good)? Who might be good? Who is not good, and which teams are just flat-out hot garbage?
Several teams are discussed in this podcast including the Philadelphia Eagles — who we both believe are not good at football — and the Cincinnati Bengals — who we both believe are very good. (Time will tell with the Bengals, of course, because until they win a playoff game, they will forever be the San Jose Sharks of the NFL — great in the regular season, but not so much in the playoffs.)
Enjoy the podcast and please don’t take any of these opinions seriously. Attiba and I already get enough hate tweets that need to be filtered through. However, if you’d like to do so anyway against our wishes, our Twitter handles are below.
