Monday workouts- Bayless, Gordon

After seeing O.J. Mayo, Danilo Gallinari and Brook Lopez over the
weekend, Minnesota worked out its final prospects leading up to
Thursday’s NBA Draft: Jerryd Bayless and Eric Gordon…

Q: On what he thought of Bayless and Gordon:
McHale: They are not your classic 6-6 guys, that’s pretty easy to look
at visually. But they are very explosive; they both play bigger than
what they are. They both can play (both guard positions). Jerryd
especially at this point a little bit farther along playing a little
bit of a combo guard, Eric is still more of an off guard than (a point
guard), but he can handle the ball and do some stuff. You have to
remember; those kids are not finished products, they are just starting
their developmental phase. I like them both.

Update:
Selecting either player with the No. 3 pick – or trading down a few
spots to acquire one of them – would give the Timberwolves an
interesting mix in the backcourt.

Bayless is 6-foot-3 and Gordon, like Foye, is 6-4. If Foye is paired
with either one of those players in the starting lineup, the Wolves
could struggle defensively against teams with bigger shooting guards.

At the same time, they would be tough matchups on the other end, with
the quickness to get to the rim and the ability to hit shots from the
perimeter while handling the ball in transition.
