The very accurate and not at all waste of time bowl projections keep rolling out as we hit under 100 days until the start of the college football season. We already hit on CBS forecasting Cincinnati to the Peach Bowl as the best of the non-BCS teams. ESPN became the latest to drop projections on our heads.
Brett McMurphy and Mark Schlabach were the two men who predicted things. McMurphy had UC going to the Miami Beach Bowl to face BYU. This is one of the new bowl games that the AAC is a part of and that BYU is tied to this season. McMurphy had Marshall as the outsider playing in one of the big boy bowl games.
Schlabach sees things differently. In a case of saving the best for last, Schalbach has Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl taking on Oklahoma. That of course means that he thinks Cincinnati will be the best of the rest. That’s pretty good news.
Just for kicks, here is where the conference was projected.
Cincinnati – Cotton, Miami Beach
UCF- St Petersburg Bowl (2x)
East Carolina – Military, BBVA
Houston – Armed Forces (2x)
UConn – Military
Memphis – BBVA
Tulane – Miami Beach
