After the press conferences from Terry Francona and the Sox ownership, ESPN’s Joe McDonald tweeted the following comments from Dustin Pedroia about Tito’s exit:
“I love the man. I wish I could have played my entire career for him.”
“My heart’s broken for him and I wish he was back.”
“I wish him the best. I hope he gets a job in the NL for a team that we don’t get a chance to play because it would be like playing against one of my family members.”
And then a little later Pete Abraham tweeted this comment from Pedroia:
“Tito is family to me. It’s hard for all of us. I could run through a wall if he told me to.”
