Penn State’s valuable stipends, most followed coaches on Twitter, more Big Ten roundtable and a whole lot more! Here is your morning roundup!

I have been saying for a few years now I believe Penn State could very well be a sleeping giant in college football. I feel as though the revenue stream is in place and the resources are there and improving. With James Franklin and his staff attacking the recruiting process the way they have, things seem to be moving in a positive direction. Franklin’s crew could be gaining quite a nice recruiting chip as well, which could open some questionable doors for the program. David Jones wrote up some thoughts about Penn State potentially being able to offer more stipend money than any other Big Ten program. This would be a valuable recruiting pitch if the numbers are legit and stay the same, although there will likely be some adjustments before schools have to commit to a figure. I am going to dive a little deeper into some of my thoughts about this later today on the site.

Yesterday in our ongoing Big Ten roundtable series each member of the panel had the ability to change one thing about the Big Ten. This was more for fun as opposed to previous topics in this series. I took the opportunity to create the ACC-Big Ten Football Challenge, while others did some work to the division line-up. It is never too late to share your opinion on what changes you would make.

James Franklin cracked the top 10 list for most followed college football coaches on Twitter compiled by Eleven Warriors.

Food for thought…

Penn State Recruiting Updates

Alabama has extended an offer to one key Penn State target in the Class of 2016, four-star offensive tackle Michal Menet. Menet is one of the top players from Pennsylvania, which is why Penn State is apparently making a big effort to secure his commitment. Alabama also extended an offer to Penn State commit Miles Sanders last week. This is not uncommon of course. Alabama targets top players in every state, and they find a way to land a bunch of them. The 247 crystal ball is still heavily in favor of Penn State for now.

Baseball is here!

The spring training schedule opened up yesterday in Florida. If you are a fan of the sport, I encourage you to check out Bloguin’s baseball options. Phillies fans can follow Macho Row and Pirates fans should give Where Have You Gone Andy Van Slyke? If you are a fan of some other team, check out the menu at the top of the site to see if Bloguin has your favorite team covered. If not, why not apply to start your own site to provide the coverage?
