Hello Followers. Hope you’re having a great week.
Well as the Khan works toward making his big announcement tomorrow (what that means, I have no idea), I thought I’d bide a bit of my time by providing you with a few choice notes to start your morning. Click on the old jumperoo.
- Note #1: In an exclusive chat yesterday in the Seattle Times, Bill Moos noted that staff was already preparing for September’s game at Clink against Oregon. So, while the formal Pac-12 schedule won’t be finalized for another couple of weeks, we can all bank on the fact that the Oregon game, if not the conference opener for us, will be conference game #2 for us. Don’t know about you all, but an early season tilt against them works to their advantage, methinks…Thoughts?
- Note #2: Benedict Bob is reporting this morning that Dan Cozzetto is now a candidate for the Arizona State job. Who is Dan Cozzetto, you ask? Well, he’s the Offensive Line and Running Backs coach of the Christian Caples. Don’t know about you all, but I am THRILLED by this news. Not only would such a hire potentially steal away a key Assistant from the C.C.’s, it would also potentially thwart the possibility of Paul Chryst, Wisconsin’s offensive coordinator, roaming the sidelines next year. Trust me, followers, we don’t want Chryst in our conference. He’d be REALLY good.
- Note #3: Although his snarkiness sometimes outweighs my own, John Blanchette’s column was pretty provocative a few days back. Provides a nice caution about where this Leach thing could be headed. Mind you, I think that the Leach-WSU marriage feels like it was meant to be, but Blanchette provides a heady caution…
- Note #4: Yesterday, Nolan Washington gave a solid interview with Ian Furness over at KJR. While I have been critical of his play, Wash sure seems like a great kid and is a fantastic ambassador for the program. That said, I was pretty surprised that Furness didn’t follow up on Wash’s repeated statement that its important for everyone to “buy in” to the new coaches. Makes me think that not everyone is on board. And THAT should be an interesting behind the scenes development to watch over the coming weeks. CJ Mizell, in particular, I think is of particular concern….
That’s all I have time for this morning. The Khan will be back tomorrow for what appears to be a particularly forgettable post.
Go Cougs!!!!
