Morning Skate Notes: Biron, Rupp In; Lundqvist Handling Stick Fine

Update, 12:39 p.m.:
Andrew Gross of the Bergen Record reports that Rupp says he has a sore neck but never had any concussion symptoms after fight with Jody Shelley on Tuesday.

Gross adds that Lundqvist notes that soreness is closer to his hand now but can only grip stick with two fingers instead of all five.

Lundqvist says that if it was the playoffs he’d be playing (via Pat Leonard).

Original Post:
Steve Zipay at Newsday reports that Marty Biron will make the start in Pittsburgh tonight, while Mike Rupp, despite having a sore neck, will be back in the line-up which will remain the same.

…got to be honest, I’m shocked that Scott isn’t subbing for someone tonight.

Zipay also says that Henrik Lundqvist (right hand) was able to handle his stick fine during practice this morning and will likely start the Rangers season finale on Saturday night. John Tortorella says his goaltender is fine.

…great news!!!!

Finally, Zipay notes that Neal, Niskanen and Sullivan are all out for Pens, while Fleury will be in goal.
