Morning Skate Notes: Stralman In; Erixon Out; Eminger Skates

Update, 3:17 p.m.:
Forgot to report that Henrik Lundqvist is back in goal.

Original Post:
Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Anton Stralman will replace Tim Erixon in the line-up against the Minnesota Wild tonight.

Stalman had been a healthy scratch the past five games.

Here’s John Tortorella on Stralman…

“I want to put him back in and we’ll see where he goes with his game. I think he has the ability to help us offensively, I think he has the ability and has really improved defensively. It’s competing all the time. Since the first time I met, I think he’s been a much better player, we just need to see it consistently, especially competing.”

…i still like the move.

Meanwhile, Gross adds that Steve Eminger skated for the first time since sustaining a sprained ankle six games ago…

“I’m taking it slowly,” Eminger said. “It’s an injury that doesn’t allow you to rush yourself back. If you rush, you could get yourself in bad situations and hurt yourself more. Any sprain, especially on your skate, with pivoting and stops and starts, it makes it that much worse. It’s better than yesterday but it’s still baby steps but it’s better than yesterday.”

…wonder if Tortorella asked Eminger to take it slow because he has no use for him. lol
