The 2014 calendar year has been an interesting one for the St. Louis Blues. It featured yet another disappointing playoff collapse, a couple noteworthy signings and the start of another new season full of optimism and opportunity.
What have been the biggest stories from 2014? Good question. Everyone is going to have their own take, but mine is based off of the posts on Frozen Notes which saw the most traffic. It won’t be a perfect compilation by any means, so feel free to chime in at the end in the comments section.

This story is still unfolding, but it’s crazy to see Martin Brodeur in a Blues uniform. He hasn’t been great and there’s going to be a tough decision to make once Brian Elliott returns, but it’s safe to say Brodeur wearing a Blues uniform was one of the great surprises of the year.

He hasn’t been a major factor so far in 2014-15, but the pursuit and the eventual signing of Paul Stastny was one of the top stories of the year. It’s still early, so we’ll have to revisit this story to see how things pan out in 2015.

Leave it to a heated playoff series to generate a ton of contempt and hate among fans. Duncan Keith taunting David Backes (wakey, wakey) after a dirty hit led to a firestorm of comments between the two groups of fans.
This post was the single most popular on Frozen Notes in 2014 and arguably the moment Blues fans talked about the most.
