In the Upstate, 2007 will be known as the year of Clooney. There is a movie by Clooney being filmed in the Upstate called “Leatherheads.”
In February, George Clooney starts filming his 1920s football movie in the Upstate. The movie, which stars Clooney, Renee Zellweger and John Krasinski, will be filmed in several Upstate locations. Expect to see Clooney and crew at some of the historical sites he scouted in October 06, including Anderson hotel the Calhoun and the Liberty building in downtown Greenville. Production will go through May, so the star-studded crew will be in town for roughly three months, which means your chances for spotting a noteable celeb are good. Locals have already had a chance to be a part of the movie – a December casting call for male Caucasian athletes. But there’ll be another opportunity in January when they’ll seek background performers. So get ready as the Upstate goes Hollywood and I am not talking about Dylan here.
