In April, researchers reported having located an Earth sized planet that could be habitable. So far Kepler-186f, as it has been named, is the closest planet of this type to be found at a distance of 490 light years away. Are we preparing for the eventuality that we may need to vacate our planet for “greener pastures”?
Humanity’s days on earth appear to be numbered, as life starts to become unsustainable. Shortages of food and resources coupled with drastic changes in the Earths climate make the extinction of mankind not only a distinct possibility – it makes it highly probable.
Researchers discover an anomaly in the fabric of time and space that may be the answer to saving humanity. This “wormhole” would allow explorers to travel beyond our solar system in order to locate a planet that is habitable and able to sustain human life.
An experimental spacecraft called Endurance is the vessel that will carry a crew tasked with, as William Shatner would say, “boldly going where no man has gone before”.
With the fate of all humanity in their hands, the crew will be faced with the toughest decisions and personal sacrifices they will ever encounter.
