A Much Needed Conversation on the Eagles

.

There are the roller coaster weeks in sports that remind you of the kiddie coasters on the Atlantic City or Coney Island boardwalks, and then there are the ones that force you to strap in and feel all the G’s that every twist and turn can produce.

Needless to say, the Philadelphia Eagles have produced the latter of those two over the past week and a half. LeSean McCoy was traded. Jeremy Maclin opted to go to Kansas City rather than re-up here in the Delaware Valley. Byron Maxwell was brought in via free agency, and the Eagles played the last trump ace in a pinochle game when they signed DeMarco Murray from the Dallas Cowboys.

This team has left varying levels of anger, grief, sadness, jubilation, and (partial) acceptance which makes now a perfect time for a Monday Morning Conversation to sort out how we’re all dealing with what has happened with our beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

A two-part, three-person podcast had to be done as I brought in my Total Sports Live colleagues Jovan Alford and Angela Montoni for the first segment of the grieving process followed by one of my best friends and favorite Eagles fans, Kat Shafer, who was born in California but has been bleeding green due to her time in Southern New Jersey.

There will be mixed feelings.

There will be some happiness.

There will (hopefully) be implanted hope.

When it comes to the Eagles, is this different from any other off-season?
