My Trip To Cooperstown!

As most of all y’all know, I live in Upstate, NY.  For a girl who lives about 2 hours away from the Baseball Hall of Fame, it seems impossible that I have never been to the Hall of Fame before today.  But it is true, I have never been to Cooperstown before today.  I have driven by the billboards on the Thruway…I’ve often thought of going, but alas…never made the trek.

Thanks to the wonderful invention of The Twitter and some amazing Red Sox lovin’ girls I have met and chit chatted with there…I got the nice invite to come along and crash their Spring Break road trip.  I met up with @Gabs10272004 @jgazin13 @jennmui and @ilovejv33 and we spent the afternoon at the museum and walking the shops along the main strip.  Let me tell you, those girls are super duper amazingly cute…nice as can be…and just cool kick arse women!  It’s nice talking to someone face to face that I’ve had numerous conversations with (mostly about the Red Sox) on the twitter…and sometimes the Facebook.

I thought the museum was great.  It has a lot of history, as you would expect…and there was a lot of Yankees stuff, but not nearly as much as I expected their to be, especially since they did…sighs…just win the World Series and all.  I’d definitely like to go again…since I saw everything, but could have spent all day there.

Here is a pic of Babe Ruth…you know…when he still played for our team.

We all know I am a fan of all things pitching.  I saw this quote and thought it was awesomesauce.

I think if Ted Williams wasn’t one of the best baseball players ever…he could have been a crazy math genius.  Here is his strike zone with his batting average in each location.  I’ve seen it before and it’s just pretty gosh darn cool.

This one isn’t about the Red Sox, but I couldn’t not put it in here.  Yep, it’s Barry Bonds homerun ball…with the asterisk on it.

The Red Sox locker.  Ah…so good, so good, so good!

A pic of the 2007 WS Ring.  I tried to take about a billion pics of the 04 ring, but it is in a glass case and the glare was not my friend.  Still.  Ring. Awesome.

Schilling’s shoe and the infamous bloody sock.  Ketchup my ass.

The display case and the plaque for Jim Ed Rice.  About time, eh?

And a Ted Williams Statue.  It’s at the back of the area with all the plaques.  Pretty cool.

I have more and more pictures, but this is enough.  It was a cool place…and so glad I got to see it with some fellow Red Sox fanatic friends!
