NBA Schedule Release: Knicks Reveal 2017-18 Season Schedule

Charlotte Hornets v New York Knicks

The Knicks, along with the rest of the NBA, released its full schedule for 2017-18 season on Monday. New York will open its season on national television, taking on Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and the Oklahoma City Thunder on October 19th on TNT. If that seems a little bit earlier than usual, that’s because it is. Basketball is nearer than ever as the NBA looks to implement effective schedule changes this season.

The early start to the campaign will look to create more space in between games and reduce the number of back-to-backs and four games in five nights scenarios across the league. In turn, players won’t need to be rested as often during game days and fans can rest assured they’ll have a greater chance at seeing the marquee stars of the league hit the floor on a nightly basis.

New York will return to the nationally televised scene on November 1st, taking on James Harden, Chris Paul, and the Houston Rockets on November 1st on ESPN. The game will be at MSG, but it’s anyone’s guess which uniform Carmelo Anthony will be wearing that evening. This will be one of thirteen nationally televised games featuring the Knicks.

Some other games to make note of: the Knicks will host the 76ers on Christmas Day and conclude the season with a home & away series with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Playing in front of passionate Big Apple fans has become a tradition for the Knicks on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and they’ll still get that chance. It’ll just be under a different roof, as the Nets play host for the holiday matinee. The defending champion Warriors will come to The Garden on February 26th.
