The Red Sox holding firm to a reduced offer to Mike Napoli after discovering a potential problem with his hip. The latest rumor has the Red Sox offering being one year with a second year option. Napoli has not had much interest from other teams so it is likely that he will accept this deal and hope for a big payday after his one-year contract on the open market like Adrian Beltre did.
The Red Sox are also looking at other options at first including Michael Morse if a deal with Napoli cannot be reached.
